Our Chemicals Sector has been manufacturing and selling
a wide range of products, based on know-how and technology cultivated
since the company was founded. These products are highly rated world wide
and made up from basic chemicals for a variety of industries and high-purity
chemicals to support the science frontiers. For examples, we supply pure
phosphates, phosphoric acid, and highly functional ferric chlorides for
the electronics industry, an advanced field. Our ferric chlorides, in
particular, are highly valued as fine etchants by customers of lead frames,
shadow masks, and printed circuit boards. We are also active in tackling
environmental tasks by recovering wasted etchants and regenerating them
for reuse.

Our
Electronic Materials sector is operated with two major businesses; reclamation
of silicon wafers and production of high purity materials for the electronics
industry. In reclaiming silicon wafers, we remove oxide films, nitride films,
and/or metal films, which have been deposited on the surface of test wafers
used in the semiconductor manufacturing processes. Wafers are polished and cleaned
to meet with test wafers requirements, and reclaimed wafers are returned to
customers for reuse. On the other hand, high purity materials such as gallium,
phosphorus, etc. are indispensable to LEDs (Light emitting diodes) used in various
displays closely related to our daily life, and are essential to GaAs ICs used
for satellite broadcasting and high speed devices. Thus, with our numerous products,
we can expect further business growth.

Through
developing and manufacturing crushers and screens, we have been contributing
to the production of an aggregate, which is a basic material for an construction
work. Besides, Rasa's pipe jacking machines with slurry treatment systems, which
show many edges in tunneling work, are essential to the installation of the
infrastructure to support the basics of our comfortable life. Our pipe jacking
machines, which are capable of digging even under a wide variety of soil condition
and sharp curves, are epoch-making machines in constructing the lifelines of
water, sewage, electricity, gas, and communication. We are also doing our best
in recycling system development, parts production for semiconductor manufacturing
equipment, and energy conservation system development.

Business

We
are now nursing new businesses for the next generation. This sector is currently
made up of one division and six project teams. These are a few examples of what
this sector is doing now. One group is manufacturing and selling engineering
chemicals and equipment for underground construction work. Other groups are
promoting 1) spin-on polymers used as dielectric layers in IC devices, 2) thermoelectric
devices used in opto-electronics or in precision apparatus for general industries,
3) deodorizer/antimicrobial agents used in food, clothing and housing to make
our lives comfortable, 4) horizontal directional drilling systems to reduce
not only working hours but also work on the roads, 5) the precision cleaning
service to make reuse of jigs possible in sputtering/vapor deposition equipment.
