RASA Chemicals Division

The Chemicals Division carries on our company’s fundamental business, phosphoric products, and is responsible for the manufacturing and sale of basic chemicals. As our company’s core business segment, The Chemical Division covered majority of the company’s sales.
The Chemical Division particularly focuses on high-purity electronic grade products used for semiconductors and liquid crystals. By our years of expertise and the strengths on the management and production within the supply system starting from raw materials to final products, our semiconductor grade phosphoric acid now is having a large share of the Asian market. Also, our notable products such as high purity phosphoric acid, phosphoric anhydride, and polyphosphate, condenser materials, high-grade copper powder, and other electronic grade products have been well-received in both domestic and overseas.
As one of our products, high-grade copper powder was created by our recycling and refinement technologies and was the first recycling copper powder product in Japan. Now it is applied in various industrial process of electronic parts and sintering parts.
In recent years, the market demand for our Shu-Cleanse deodorant has risen especially. This white chemically adsorbent deodorant (powder) is made from special inorganic metallic material, capturing the molecules that create undesirable odors. Even after adsorption the powder’s color does not change, making it suitable for mixing into textile products. It has been used in functional undergarments, which have become hit products in recent years, and its range of applications is continuing to grow. A variety of grades are available for eliminating the four main foul odors (ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, trimethylamine, and methylmercaptan), aldehydes, VOC (volatile organic compounds), sweat and body odor of elderly people (ammonia, acetic acid, isovaleric acid, nonenal, etc.).
In the future we are going to continue to meet the requirements from our worldwide customers by actively engaging in quality improvement, function enhancement and research for proposed new materials.

RASA Machinery Division

The Machinery Division provides a variety of machines such as excavating, crushing and sorting based on the technologies which had been developed in its mining business. It has been assisting with recovery efforts by clearing rubble following the Great East Japan Earthquake as well as contributing to urban infrastructure for a long-time.
Especially, pipe jacking machines have been used for improvement of water and sewer system in Japan roughly 35 years. In recent years, they have been increasingly used in areas such as the United States, China, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. These machines can perform excavation for a wide range of ground conditions and construction even requiring sharp curves, making them well-suited for use in building the pipeline infrastructure such as water and sewer lines, power and communications cables, gas lines and more.
Our highly accurate crushing and pulverizing technologies are increasingly being utilized in an ever-growing number of fields. In the crushing field, we are working to promote greater adoption of unified systems for crushing, sorting and recycling everything from glass and plastic bottles to cans and thinned wood. In the pulverizing field, we have been building up a track record in food applications such as curry powder, soba powder and flour with our super-eddy mills which was brought from Germany.
We are currently focusing on our [KoCona series] which promotes the use of wood biomass. This is a system of small-scale distributed thermal utilization applying to untapped natural resources such as thinned wood and chaff to support the creation of a recycling-based society by promoting the transition from fossil fuel to renewable energy.
We have developed [KoCona-DRY] which dries biomass material with a high level of efficiency and [KoCona-ACE] as a high-efficiency pulverizer to generate next-generation biomass fuel with optimal particle size. We have partnered with an engineering company to provide an integrated system which includes combustion and thermal utilization devices.
We also have long experience in contract manufacturing by electron beam welding and offer our welding technology which is available for a wide range of materials such as high melting point / high thermal conductivity materials and joining dissimilar materials. We will offer you excellent welding quality under thorough quality control.

RASA Electronic Materials Division

The Electronic Materials Division is making contributions to the electronics industry by supplying high-purity inorganic materials for use in the manufacturing of compound semiconductors, as well as resist remover, spin-on-dielectrics, and other products used in the semiconductor and liquid crystal panel manufacturing processes.

We are one of the few manufacturers that are capable of steadily supplying semiconductor raw materials such as high-purity red phosphorus, high-purity gallium, high-purity indium, and boric oxide. We also use our recycling and purifying technologies to reclaim gallium and indium scraps to bulk materials with purity from 4N (99.99%) to 7N (99.99999%).
For spin-on-dielectrics, as the Japanese distributor for U.S.-based Honeywell, we are supplying spin-on glass (SOG) /spin-on glasses. This/these spin-on glass product/products is/are widely used for planarization of multi-layer semiconductor interconnects (with and without sacrificial film) as well as being used for a dielectrics. In addition, we are releasing photoimageable overcoat 130Lic, self-developed, for use in the manufacturing of touch panel.

This division is also supplying AgX and AgR radioactive iodine adsorbents. These adsorbents can greatly reduce the leakage of radioactive iodine from the venting gas when the severe accidents happen at nuclear power plants. AgX and AgR can reliably capture radioactive iodine even under the harsh venting conditions such as high temperature and high relative humidity. These capabilities have been proved/confirmed, and both products have been put in use nuclear reactors in Japan. Meanwhile, we are also selling the iodine filters made from our radioactive iodine adsorbents, for using in filtered venting systems.
